Oakland Hanja Survey

Hey Lovers of Hanja!

Hope you are having a good summer.

It looks like we have a new location in Downtown Oakland starting in September, very close to the BART. The time will probably be 10:30 am Saturday. Details to follow.

I am starting to think about what and how we want to study. If you think you might be interested, please take a few minutes to take this short survey (7 questions).

I look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new people interested in Hanja.

Here is the link.

Bravo RK!

Wow, RK memorised the first section of 千字文! I should threaten to use the 회초리 more often. Thanks for inspiring us.

Rainy day Hanja – 雨傘

Today’s weather reminds me of one my favourite Hanja words: 雨傘(우산) umbrella. The first character depicts drops of rain falling from heaven. The second character looks like four people (人) huddling under some sort of shelter.

Give us this day our daily bread

“오늘날 우리에게 일용할 양식을 주시고”
I always thought that we praying for bread since bread is Western food (洋食) but we were actually just praying for 糧食, food in general.

Oakland Hanja Class time and location survey

Hey Hanja-rators!

Several of you have mentioned that the location and time of the class are a problem for you and that you would be able to come more frequently if they were changed.

Please take the following survey (only three questions, no Hanja) if you have been attending or are seriously considering attending in January.

Thanks for your enthusiasm so far. I still find it amazing that we can get this many people to give up their Saturday morning to study Hanja. Hope you are having as much fun as I am.
